It's definitely not just you! I think we tend to push ourselves a little harder on the short runs - we've done them so many times we could probably do them in our sleep, so we've got to push it to make it more fun, more rewarding. But long runs are a new experience - we want to finish strong, so we take it easier. That's the way it is for me anyway. I'd much rather run for a few hours and enjoy it than push myself through a 5k! Just my two cents! Best of luck with your training!
Wait til you see how easy tomorrow's run will be. Not one, not two, but at least three nice long hills. And with temps in the low 60s, we'll mow them down like they were nothing. Tell me if I'm wrong!
I am a wife, mother, student, business owner, Chaplain of the FOP Auxiliary and now to add to the list...runner. I have run in several events including the Route 66 half marathon. I am now in training for my first full marathon. I wanted to run someplace spectacular for the first time, but what is better than seeing all your friends and family out here supporting your endevors.
